What I've Learned So far

1. What I've learned so far is how to book venues, what kind of venues are out there, and what to do at the venue. There are numerous venues out there, be it clubs or large stadiums. Depending on the band, certain venues would be booked for their tour. It is important to know each different kind of venue because you and the band would be received differently at each. Also, knowledge of stage production is important. Due to the economy, bands are finding it harder to pay different people to perform different tasks. A tour manager is most likely to be hired if they are able to perform duties of a tour manager, stage manager, sound technician, and/or instrument technician.

2. I have learned a lot from my material. While books related to my topic are generally very broad, I have learned lost about the music industry from Alternative Press Magazine. Each issue contains articles relating to the current state of the music industry to new upcoming acts and to what kind of gear is easiest to transport while on the road.
